Do Benefits Stop After The Trial Work Period Is Over?

After you have used all nine months of your Trial Work Period, Social Security reviews your case to see if you are able to do "substantial" work. See Substantial Gainful Activity.

If you are able to do substantial work, you will get three more months of full benefits before they run out.

After your benefits end, if you encounter problems with working, Social Security is not gone for good. See Extended Period of Eligibility.
