Affidavits

An affidavit is a written declaration sworn under oath.

In the United States, the oath is usually made in front of an official known as a Notary Public. The Notary Public certifies that:

• The person who signs the affidavit is the person named in the affidavit
• That the document is signed by the person in front of the Notary Public
